I want to get an ADSL line at home to finally upgrade from my poor ISDN 64 kb connection.

Telkom (South African ISP) charges $104 per month for an ADSL connection, so I'm wondering if it's worth it.
For eg: how long would it take me to download a 10Mb file?

My parents live in Durban and get the 'net through MWeb. I'm not sure if their services are available in Jo'burg as well, but they probably are - ADSL starts at R329 a month plus a flat rate charge from Telkom. Click on the "Tell me more links" for more details on their plans:
