what would make the winxp loading your personal settings take forever to load?
maybe 90 seconds

Got it, I cleaned out the prefetch folder under windows which was infested with spyware starts. Had run spybot, hijack this, norton but that didn't clean up all. (hadn't got to adaware yet).
Hope this helps somebody else.

Got to run the cleaners, then clear out the prefetch...
