I feel like I'm the only one with Battlefield 1942 problems. lol :p
Anyways my brother uninstalled my Battelfield 1942 game and I went to go reinstall it. After I get done with the first disk I entered in the second one and it give me and error. That says that the sepecied media could not be found and then It turns into the blue screen of death but its about the CD-ROM drive and when I press enter it keeps giving me the blue screen. So I finally press exit and I have to start reinstalling it again but I get the same error message. Can anyone help me please!

Are you getting this problem every time when you get to the second CD or it's not an only CD you're having problem with?
Do you have another drive to try it in?
OR
Perhaps another computer in your household, to try BF CDs.

you need to delete every trace of BF from your computer. Your CD is fine this has been happening alot, some times even if you clean your CD this will work,
1) Ok here is what you need to do, if you have any custom maps etc downloaded for BF1942 save them to some other folder that your not going to delete.
2) You need to run a search for anything BF1942 related, by clicking on start, find, do a search for files and folders type In BF1942, this should bring up any hidden files, highlight them then delete them all.
3) Go you my computer, C drive and look for the EA folder, open it, if it only contains BF1942 delete it.
You must make sure every thing that’s BF related is gone, even from your Recycle Bin.
this should work.
good luck.

Thanks

yep every thing has to go,
every thing thats BF1942 has to be deleted,
if you have patches, store them in a diffrent folder untill you have removed all the install files from your computer.
Quote, you must make sure every thing has been removed from where your installing BF1942, if there is a bad file there it will remain even after an uninstall has been done.

You wouldn't, by any chance, be running Norton Anti-Virus Auto-Protect?
If you are, disable it before running your installations.

I don't ahve Norton and for three reasons:
-I have AVG which is free
-I've heard that it causes problems as you stated before
and
-It sound like an old guy

Try doing a system repair with the windows XP disk..it may be that some important files are missing and are not getting recognized ,which would cause a freeze and those messages..
Obviously some program needed to run this is missing....
Have you did a smple of trying to install something else from a CD to see if it does this also..or hass the same message poping up?
I believe it uses install sheild to install ..and once I had the same issue and had to do a repair and or re-install of windows and everything worked after that..but that is the last drastic measure to take....
Registry and DLL files are what is used ..so if something is missing then??no go..

Have you done a virus scan? Many be you have a virus. Or try to restore your system back to another day.

Is everything about this game out of the registry....?? this has to happen before re-installing...
What did your brother do or play with?? That is one reason why I do not allow certain people on my computer as it doesn't take much to screw something up....I have had experts mess my computer up before....so there!
