And how many of you infected by the CIH virus and destroyed your motherboard ? Dominus 09-13-1999, 12:52 AM I had the CIH, but I managed to find & clean it before the payload date. Try re-flashing the BIOS, not sure it that'll work, but it's worth a shot. Also make sure to LLF the infected HDD. Sometimes the CIH can stay resident in an infected HDD, but a LLF should take care of that. Just try & see what happens. welsh wizard 09-13-1999, 01:17 AM Hi Dominus you sure want to make it diffucult doing a LLF on hard drive! Dreadnaught 09-14-1999, 02:54 AM What happens with this virus? I'm having problems with my system. Such as not being able to boot from floppy, files being renamed on floppies, etc. I've tried replacing the floppy drive and cable to no avail. I'm currently considering sending my mobo back to abit to see if it's the board or not. Later...Paul Mike H. 09-14-1999, 07:25 PM This is a bit tricky but you can hot swap bios chips and flash the bad one. (it should be a similar mobo with the same kind of bios) Another way to get rid of the virus is to use a utility to write zeros to the HD Mike H. Petros 09-15-1999, 12:44 AM you might try resetting the bios with the jumper used to override the bios password. SysOpt.com
