I´ve read some tutorials found on this forum but there´s nothing like having help from u guys.
So here´s the deal: I´ve used the overclocking option on my ASUS P4P800 motherboard and set it to 20% wich made my P4 2.8C go to 3360 Mhz. I don´t note any big difference in performance nor temperature wise. Can I go further?

System specs:

Raidmax Scorpio 868 Case (comes with a 420W psu and 3 fans)
Asus P4P800 Mobo (latest BIOS)
2x256 PC3200 Nanya Technology DDR400
P4 2.8 Ghz HT 800MhzFSB
Geforce FX 5600 256 DDR

My temps are: 34(cpu)/33(mobo) at idle and 50(cpu)/35(mobo) at full load before and after the mentioned overclock.

Thanks for your help.

since you only have pc3200 ram, that might be your limit.

what do you mean you don't note a difference? what are you using to benchmark your system? If you're using 3DMark03, then you won't see a big difference because your video card is holding you back.

how much were you planning to spend?

x800 pros are still kind of expensive. Newegg hasthose for $475.
9800pros are pretty cheap now. Newegg has 'em for $175.

You can price them around, but it's really up to you. X800Pros are supposed to retail for $399, so you'd be paying a premium to get it early.

The 20% overclock on the mobo wasn´t stable...maybe cuz my memory is sh**?

Probably. running PC3200 at 240 is kinda high unless you have some really good modules like Corsair XMS.

How about Geil? Crank up the Juice in a Golden Dragon, they'll help you push a bit farther. But you are limited by the pc3200 Ram like they said.
