Okay, I've just got myself a 4 port ADSL/wireless router (Webexcel 3830) and have easily been able to get it up and running through one of its ethernet ports.

I also have a LinkSys Wireless USB Adaptor which I'd like to use with my next door neighbour's PC so we can play games and he can access the net at a reasonable speed. IF that all goes well, I'd like to stick the Webexcel out of the way somewhere and use another of the Linksys units in my own machine.

The Linksys is able to establish a connection with the WebExcel but I'm unsure where to go from here.

you need to have the same SSID on both the router and the WIFI adapter. if you enabled any security, disable them until you get a good connection. Then you can start using WEP, MAC filtering, etc.

Well you said you got the wired PC's up and running without any problems. Your last statement would infer your having problems with the wireless clients. What kinds of issues are you having? Setting them up "where to go from here" would be no different than the wired clients, after your properly associated to the AP.

The router and PC work just fine, but the manuals are about as much help as Mochael Moore is to George Bush about where to go from here.
The router manual seems to be stuck in win98 days :)
I'm aware of the SSID thing, and will be giving it a go later on today and seeing if I can get things working.
I just wanted advice on where to start as this is the first time I've ever used any wireless networking stuff.
