Check the drivers. Strawbs 05-24-2004, 09:00 AM also if there is a way to power down\reset the dsl connection (for about a minute) you should try that too! dajogejr 05-26-2004, 03:01 PM Ditch that hub, get a router. It's probably causing conflicts with other PCs and/or objects on your network. Midknyte 05-26-2004, 03:13 PM Why do you have a hub in the first place? are you trying to share your connection with multiple systems? if so, you really need a router as dajogejr said. The Lodge 05-26-2004, 03:37 PM Some DSL connections you only need a switch\hub to hook multiple computers to one connection. So he doesn't necessarily need to "ditch" his hub, and go and spend money to get a router. Try what Sterling_Aug suggested and see if that works. I’m not sure if your DSL company uses static or dynamic ip addresses. If you’re getting on-line with multiple computers at the same time, most likely you have a static ip address. If it was dynamic you would need a router to accomplish that. Midknyte 05-26-2004, 03:44 PM it really depends on the ISP. some ISPs will only give 1 IP. You have the option of purchasing more IPs, though. we're all grasping at straws here. Akizum, if you want help, you need to be more specific. lito pospos 05-27-2004, 03:26 AM Realese and renew work only in dynamic. akizum 06-01-2004, 03:33 AM Originally posted by Midknyte it really depends on the ISP. some ISPs will only give 1 IP. Some ISP's do use MAC id to setup internet. If you did change from an old to a newer lan card then you must call your ISP and inform them of the change and let them configure the new MAC id. Otherwise, this so i dont know about the ISP because who ever try to connect to the internet in this place just works fine sounds like you are into warchalking.;) akizum 06-01-2004, 11:48 PM thanks so everyone who goes to a coffe house ,and try to connect to the coffehouse provided wireless network with his laptop have to call the ISP provider ? ??  kwebb 06-02-2004, 02:29 PM The coffee house is the provider. So your saying your trying to use a hotspot at a coffee house and you haven't asked them for help? Seriously? Could be WEP, could be MAC filtering, could be the SSID isn't broadcasted. Could be alot of things. They know how their system is setup right? Could be a good idea to ask them. SysOpt.com
