I can't get my XP OS to pick up an IP address from my router.
I'm triple booting XP, W2K, and ME. Plus I've got a Linux box on the network. All OS's are getting IP's assigned just fine except for my XP install.

Any ideas on why XP is failing on getting an assigned IP?

BTW, XP will connect if given a static IP.

TIA

Solved! From another forum I figured out that I had shut down the DHCP client in services.

Enabled that service and the machine's now getting an IP from the router.

Why did you turn off DHCP?

BpB, I don't know why. But apparently when I did shut it down, it didn't cause me any immediate problems.
