There is a power switch on the volume control knob (control power to the 4 speakers) and one on the subwoofer. Is it better for the speakers if the power switches are left on all the while or should they be off when not in use? Or should one be left on while the other is off when not in use?

Please advise. Thanks.

Vortex.
It took me a little over 2 years, but I burned out my power
supply of my FSP 2000 by either leaving the amp on or the power to the adapter on, I now have a dead power supply and a short in the amp at the power switch. I will be replacing the amp, but will have to buy the entire system because I can't get the parts separate.
Good / bad news because I will have 8 satelite speakers now, although Creative does not recommend more that the 4, I have read some posts where people run 8 or even 12.
My opinion is to not only power off the amp at night, but unplug, or power off the surge protector bar so the adapter gets a rest.
The system should last many years.

my 4.1 system has been on for over a year and it's still cool

the reason i always keep them on, cuz i run my PC 24/7, and i use my PC as an morning Alarm, to blast me Awake to go to work in the morning.

so i either set it up to turn on the TV in my fav music channel, or just Winamp
