You'll find what you want to know here: http://www.helponthe.net/nathan/#ima13
It's easier for you to read it there than to do a somewhat large paste to this post.

You beat me to it there B.E. I haven't got this one on my site yet. I'll post it after I'm done here. So here's a link for you mac;

http://search.support.microsoft.com/searchbin/kb/search.idq?D=Support&A=T&T=B&SG=&S=F&SD=SO&T1=&FR=0&DU=C&Sz=%22out+of+memory%22&O=%22o ut+of +memory%22

I guess it doesn't like the long Url's. Check out my site under the category of;

"Starting and Shutting Down Windows"

Let us know if it helps.

I'll get this right sooner or later. I forget what site does and doesn't support html. You would think I would look to the left and see. But no, I have to make it difficult.

There is reference to it under the Defrag and ScanDisk section.

That's the reason for the site B.E. Why type or cut and paste when we can just send them to the site and let them read it for themselves? I really feel most people appreicate things better when they have to work a little for it. Plus it saves us time and allows us to be a little lazy (lol). If they have further questions, they will come back and ask them.

Thanks. That's what my favorites look like. So I just thought it should be shared. It's not a site for newbies, but it's an excellent source for learning what some solutions are to some problems we face.

I do want to thank Tech Support Guy for hosting the site and for Robert who built the overall site to what I wanted. All I do is enter links and text. The biggest problem I have is deciding what comics to use (lol)!

Was the PC running NT? It sounds a lot like its running out of registry quota. That is corrected by right clicking 'my computer' and going to properties, then select the performance tab and change page file size. There are boxes for max and min registry sizes and current registry size. Just make sure the current size is a few megs below the max limit.

This only applies to NT.

it looks like most of these problems are for win 3.1 and not win98.I'm not sure that I understand what you were trying to show me here and I couldnt find the one setting as I think that it had to do with a network or something.

virtual settings are set up for permanent at 100 meg because of the large amount of ram installed.what do you guys think of a reinstall of win98 over the existing one.mac

I will do what you suggest and be very grateful,but I am not sure about the settings you want me to change nathan.It seems like the problem goes with dos mostly not less I am missing something here, but not sure how to fix in 98.I started out in the dos 3.3 days up and I really cant figure this one out unless there is just something wrong with some main files in the setup.would like you guys oppinion on this one as what to do.

run a scanreg.exe /fix that will scan ur registry for errors.. but if u get an out of mem error.. then free up some conventional memory.. if that is all freed up then u might want to scan for viruses.. especially for a CH virus..
