Upgrade Problem!Help!

I recently upgraded to a PII 350 on a DFI P2XBLrev D+ motherboard with 2 port LPT Legacy exp card. Whenever I have Mustek Scanner hooked up system wont power back up until cable is disconnected It worked fine on Previous system with same i/o card!all peripherals work ok until powerdown athen powerup problem appears unless Scanner is disconnected! New Motherbd was tried as well as new i/o card to no avail(FYI powersupply ATX style was swapped as well)

usually when you change the mb & cpu, you need to reinstall the os (at least with win9x). a pain, but sometimes necessary to get those periphs working.

reinstalling windows is a pain.. but there is a faster way.. if you do this:

1. 'reboot'(LOL) computer
2. F8, choose command prompt only
3. type cd windows
4. attrib -s -h -r system.dat
5. ren system.dat system.123
6. cd\
7. copy system.1st c:\windows\system.dat
8. restart system
9. Follow the onscreen instructions of what Hardware device windows wants installed (be prepared with drivers)
10. Once in windows do a start|find|files folders
11. do a search for *.reg
12. select all
13. click FILE|merge to merge software registry keys back into the registry.
14. Click OK through all those boxes.

cheap way of reinstalling windows without reinstalling all the *.dll and VxD and other core components..

if u cant get it to work u can always ren system.123 back to system.dat..
