Is there a tool built into windows 2k or freely available for download that let's you monitor who is connected to my pc. I am currently on a LAN and I know that people map to my pc from time to time. I remember that I used to be able to monitor open connections in windows 98 using system tools but haven't found a similar option in windows 2000...

Download this free util. http://www.softperfect.com/download/netscan.exe

It is one Exe file notching to install. Put it on your hard drive and drag a link to a spot of you choice.

Run the proggie. In few seconds it will show you all the computers on the network, MAC addresses, pings, and which ports are opened.

Make sure that if you have Software Firewall that all the computers are on the Trusted Zone.
