Hi all!!
OK here goes....
I have two Maxtor HDD's C(system) and D(storage). They both run on the same IDE chain. I shut down as normal last evening (y'know hammer to the fascia ;) )

Upon booting this morning from my C drive the computer completely locked up on the first microsoft screen (2K Pro) and the D drive started to make a grinding noise about once every 2 seconds or so. I tried plugging it into my other IDE chain, to no avail (I shut down before this btw lol) What in gods name could this be???

Any help massively appreciated!! (I have ALL my music/photos on this drive)

I'll be happy to give you any more details if needs be...

F.

Sounds like your D drive's dead. Download PowerMax to make a bootable floppy and check it out:
