Just installed a Fujitsu 2954E SCA-80 SCSI disk on an Initio 9100A SCSI-2 controler.
Disk works fine, but posts low scores w/Nuts&Bolts98 (2.6Mb/s). Have a Quantum Viking II SCA-80 that tests much better (5.8Mb/s).
Both devices 7,200RPM, on same controler.
Why is the Fujitsu laging in performance?
One note of intrest though, the Viking posts 7.9ms seek, the Fugi 4.9ms! Something is going on here- caching?
I belive difference could be that write caching is not enabled on Fugi- how do I test, and how do I enable it?
