Why I can't restart my computer while if I turn it off by holding the power button for about 4-5 seconds and then turn it on, everything is fine. What is the problem? What is the difference between these two procedure? God bless me that is not the hardware problem. /forum/frown.gif

After the computer begin to restart and when it finished the first screen(something like checking the memory, the hard drive etc.) it freezed. This problem showed up the day before yesterday, before that my computer works fine. And I do nothing to the BIOS etc. It just suddenly happened. I am using win98, not win98 SE. And I have Visual Studio 6.0 and Norton Anti-virus 5.0 installed in the system. Also one software to tweak the modem. Thanks a lot!

DODO (and everyone else)

Do not duplicate your post in more than one forum - it gets really confusing. One post in one forum. Thanks.
