Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : No Red Color
Right click on the desktop, select properties, then the settings tab, then the advanced button. After I updated my video drivers awhile back, a few new tabs appeared here. Check through them all for any color settings that may be off. Definitely worth a shot before you go poking around inside your system, eh? Good luck.

Thanks for the replies! My first instincts were to check (or replace) the video card, but since he wasn't 'inside' the computer - it didn't make sense to me. Definitely going to try to find any settings that may have been turned off!
Thanks again!

Recently I went to repair a computer that had been worked on by a previous technician. The only problem that it had then is trying to get connected to the internet. Not only did he fail to configure this properly, but he also lost ALL of the red tone on this machine! How could he have done this? The display was working fine before he did his work on it. What would you check or look for to get the color displays corrected?

1. Check that the videocard is properly seated in the slot and the monitor cables are firmly connected.
2. Reinstall the video drivers with most recent revision.
3. Replace the monitor cable if needed.

One thing to check first! Remove the 15 pin D connector from the video card and examine it closly, looking for a bent pin. Chances are you will find one. Be very careful attempting to straighten it, they are easily broken!
Care should be taken when ever pluging a connector in!
Hope this helps!
It is possible that the red part of your monitor blew. Fixing this usually costs a flat rate of $150 for a 14/15" monitor and thus is not worth it. If your monitor is indeed broken, you'll actually save money by buying a new one. Of course, you should make sure that the pins and cable are good, as previously stated by others.

I had a monitor with a bent pin on the cable, and it showed as a loss of RED.
Like MaxVal says, be very careful when trying to straighten them. If the pin seems pushed in, disconnect all power and gently pull the pin out. (I had to do this every time I removed the connector)
