[had nice logo here]

Dear eBay customer,

During our regularly scheduled account maintenance and verification procedures, we have detected a slight error in your billing information.

This might be due to either of the following reasons:

1. A recent change in your personal information ( i.e.change of address).
2. Submiting invalid information during the initial sign up process.
3. An inability to accurately verify your selected option of payment due to an internal error within our processors.

Please update and verify your information by clicking the link below:

https://arribada.ebay.com/saw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?PlaceCCInfo
(the link in the email goes straight to a fill in the blanks and give us your cc info.)

If your account information is not updated within 48 hours then your ability to sell or bid on eBay will become restricted.

Thank you

The eBay Billing Deptartment .

Funny thing is that I just recently received a real email from Pay Pal...I can see how many people would fall for this. Heck, I don't even have an eBay account and I "almost" filled it it.

There have been similar ones sent to people that are using the same IP as mine. They're getting slicker all the time.

Is there any way to fill it out with informaition pertaining to the head of the FBI? Then submit it untraceably.
I think that would fix 'em.
Enjoy!

I say 'let em come'.

The sooner stupid people get disgruntled and stop using the internet the better.
In ALL bank sites as well as eBay and paypal, the user agreement states that you should NEVER log into the site through an email or any other link. Always type in the actual site address and log in there.

Its just like spam. If the spammers didn't make a profit on the pen!s enlargement pills spam they send out, they wouldn't keep sending out the spam and annoying the rest of us.

Because I bought computer parts for my store primarily on the net and sometimes from Ebay, using Paypal, I recieved one of these about a year ago right in the middle of a dispute with Paypal and I almost fell for it too. Looked legit and because I was in communication with Paypal, I thought it was legit. Lucky I didn't fall for it. I did get my credit card highjacked from some old records involving a mail order firm and had to cancel and reissue credit cards. They only got me for $150.00 bucks, and I was never able to reverse the charges back to my credit card. A third party had used my card.

ebay is a cess pit.

Yeah I use it, however I find it poorly policed, the billing systems highly dubious, frankly I rarely buy anything now, due to simple fraud issues. I do sell on it tho ;)

Old fashioned trust........... Hmmmm

Almost got me too....until I asked about it here. What made me do that was when I mouse-overed the link in the email. The anticipated address didn't seem quite right.
