Clear CMOS

I have a MS-6117 mainboard with a WinBond AMIBIOS chip. How do I clear CMOS? What happens when I do that? Do I risc messing something up like not being able to boot or power-up?

Clear CMOS is best described as re-setting the Bios to factory defaults.

You still can boot. No harm done. You just have to recheck/redo your settings.

On another BBS, Klosters says that clearing the CMOS ruined his BIOS chip.

I've done it a number of times without any problem just as many others have, but I guess you should be made aware that some risks may be involved.

This guy already flashed his Bios "somewhat unsuccessfully". I didn't think he needed that reminder.

Thanx guys for the help. I found the jumpers to clear CMOS and I did, but with no success. =( It did´nt do any good at all.
But thanx anyway...
