What is faster 2- 32 meg mem chips or 1- 64 meg chip? Does having more connectors move data faster or isn't that the bottleneck?

Does having more connectors move data faster or isn't that the bottleneck? Nathan 03-28-1999, 01:19 AM I don't think there will be a noticeable difference with one over the other. However, what is important is having only one 64 MB chip and have the other slot open just in case you want to add another 64 MB chip in the future. mallen 03-28-1999, 02:59 PM 1 64 MB stick leaves you more room for expansion. Keeper1 04-02-1999, 11:36 PM If you have the SDRAM slots to spare though, you might consider the fact that if one stick goes bad, 2x32 is better than 1x64. alan 04-03-1999, 02:56 PM for speed reasons 1 stick is better as the cpu has only to address the one dimm slot but we are only talking about 1 or 2 ns difference when the cpu address's 2 or 1 dimm in the end its up to you with 1x64 and 1x32 in mine i get 139.8 norton benchmark and with 1x64 i get 142.4 norton reads memory access speeds for its benchmark process both sticks are seimens pc66 running @ 100mhz alan SysOpt.com
