I found the following message in a newsgroup regarding sound cards and that is the exact situation I'm facing and would appreciate an answer to clear up the doubts on whether my MX300 is faulty. Here goes:
"I'm using MX300 with 2 sets of Cambridge PCWorks acting as front and rear speakers. When I MAXED the volume (no sound is been played though PC is on), the noise volume from the rear speakers is higher than from
the front speakers. Using another 2 sets of speakers also render the same result. Is this normal or is something wrong with the MX300 card?
I'm using Diamond's latest driver that doesn't have the front/rear volume slider, so I assumed the front and rear speakers' volume should be balanced."
Any follow-up on the above would be greatly appreciated.
