Don't knw if this is an issue or not, but when I go into Device Manager and look at the way interrupts, I see something starnge. On IRQ 10 I see IRQ Holder for PCI Steering twice. Am wondering if I'll get in trouble if I delete one. next, I see that my video card (STB Velocity 440) and audio card (SB Live) are both on IRQ 10, but show no conflicts. I don't see any real problems except Legacy of Time has horrible scratchy sound. I deleted the STB and let Windows reinstall it, but it went back to IRQ 10. Haven't played with reinsatlling the SB Live yet. I've never seen 2 devices on the same IRQ without problems or conflicts arising. Is this a real problem that I should be worried about.....Thanks

No problem . Win98 can share IRQ's.

Where in DevMan do you see PCI Steering?

In Device Manager double click computer. A new window opens that lets you view IRQ, I/O, DMA, and Memory by resources used and resources reserved. I've always found this to be an easy way to troubleshoot IRQ & DMA problems since you get to see a list of what is assigned. Of course you can go Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Information and get teh same info & more. I'm just used to looking at Device Manager because Win95 didn't have the other way & it's a little quicker. Actually, I'm still a little concerned about the PCI Steering Holder being listed ywice on one IRQ. I'm tempted to delete one & see what happens.

If it aint broke..don't fix it...

...but if you have a card in the PCI slot next to the AGP slot you can move it and allow Windows to reinstall - it may assign new resources/IRQ to it, but this too can create more problems than it solves sometimes. I had a net card in the shared PCI slot next to the AGP (STB Velocity) and the system was a little jerky and would spontaneously reboot when connected to network. I moved the net card and it sloved that problem but now I can't get an IRQ assigned to my ISA sound card, so I am off to buy a PCI sound card (PCI devices can share IRQs).

Ok, I did it, moved the SB PBI Live to a different slot & the IRQs were reassigned.
