The driver that came on the mobo CD likes Win95 and won't even initiate setup. Abit's site had nothing... Kinda disappointing for a board advertised as supporting Ultra DMA/33.

Is anyone aware of a site from which I could download a UDMA driver that will work on the BH6 running Win98? I've searched everywhere to no avail. Thanks in advance.

There's a reason why you can't find anything. It's because you don't need to download a thing. Win98 comes with both the Intel and the Microsoft bus master drivers that support UDMA already built in. Look in your device manager properties under "hard disk controllers". You'll find that it's already using one of the two. Play around with it to see which one works best for you.

The thing is almost all boards that advertise that download speed will only give you half of that. And yes it's sad.

Thanx a zillion, you were right on the money. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Dual IDE /channel settings was set to "default" instead of "Both channels enabled"; therefore, I couldn't get the Generic IDE Disk settings to let me enable DMA.

Now I've enabled DMA and my drive DI on Sandra went from 4959 to 8804, then to 9493 after defragging the drive. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Still wish Win98 would give a dummy like myself some clue about UDMA/33 support. I found that installing and setting Win98 was the only downside of building this system. Guess I shouldn't complain huh? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
