Have put a new machine together with th A7N8X-E deluxe, 512Mb, 160Gb Seagate SATA drive. Set up the usual config, loaded the SATA drivers on F6 prompt, accepted the drivers commenced loading XP Pro then near to completion looks at the floppy to load the drivers onto the system, says the drivers arnt on the floppy, althought it accepted them earlier. Have to skip to commence. Appears to finish load correctly. On initial boot up from hard disk, starts loading windows from the HD then crashes and wont go any further. Anyone any ideas please

Are you sure that you unzipped the drivers fully on to the floppy?

if you skip the drivers, then you're gonna get a blue screen error.
you could always try the latest drivers off of the Asus website.
Hi guys, thanks for the input.Ive tried the latest (and SI's own drivers with the same result. As I mentioned, the drivers are ok and accepted at load up, (it wouldnt install otherwise) but at completion time asks for the drivers again, (the ones previously accepted) but refuses to accept them. I had similar problems once before on an HP server & HPUX but never with NT boot time loadable drivers. Loading with an ultra drive is fine, it just doesnt like the sata drivers, still cant work it out but havent given up -- yet, thanks again.
