Hi everybody

I have a Matrox Parhelia 128 graphiccard, and when I here ealier have installed Battlefield Vietnam, the graphic was a total mess.
The water and terrain was brownish and when i tried to move, it did it very slooooow.

Well then i found a site where the minimum configuration was descriped, and this is what it said:
-----------
- Windows XP, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows 98, (Windows NT and 95 are not supported)
- 500 MHz processor
- 128 MB RAM
- 4x CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive
- 1.2 GB free hard disk space plus space for saved games
- 32 MB Direct 3D and Hardware Transform & Lighting capable video card using the NVIDIA GeForce4, NVIDIA GeForce3, NVIDIA GeForce2, NVIDIA GeForce256, ATI Radeon 8500, ATI Radeon 7500, ATI Radeon, or Matrox Parhelia chipset with DirectX 8.1 compatible driver
- DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card
- Keyboard
- Mouse
---------------------------------
This is my computer

- AMD athlon XP1800+ 1.54 GHz
- 256 MB Ram
- 80GB HD
- Matrox Parhelia 128
- SB Live Value soundcard
---------------------------------
So, the game should run on my pc, right???

Please help

Best regards

make sure you have anti aliasing and anisotropic filtering turned off, the game really does not like those

Do you have the newest video card drivers?: ftp://ftp.matrox.com/pub/mga/archive/2kxp/2003/2kxp_104_02_007.exe

actualy, I have solved the problem now. It was just a driver from Matrox' website. I installed and BOINK that was it. Now I just have to fiddle around with the transparancy problem on the aircrafts. The windows is all white

Hey that great that you fixed the game but those system requirements are not right but that doesn't really matter but if you also wanted your game to run smoother if its kinda bumpy or laggy I would put in more memory because 256mb ain't a lot.

How many times do we all have to tell people ( not meaning any disrespect ) that you need at least 512MB to run anything current as far as gaming goes......especially with a 128MB graphics card....this would make the most improvement.....

Example: my old system I sold to a friend and it has 628MB ram ...,but only a 1.3 processor and a Ge Force 4 420 MX video card and it plays OK on his..probably due more with the amount of ram than anything.....
Again, I do not know what the game makers are thinking as to min. requirements,.... I have a very high end system and I even have issues sometimes with this game.....although the graphics is not one of them...

IS it a 128 meg video card have the
qautity setting set to
"Blend" or "Mixed" on "directx" tab if there is one
this mode gives you good image not and good perforance

Maybe we sure ask the moderaters to put up a sticky "All games Made after Battlefield 1942 need 512mb of ram to run smoothly!"

lol
