I just installed Win XP on a 40GB HD. While the CD was in the CD drive, I was ask if I wanted to partition the drive. I clicked yes and created a 12GB primary partition. I then chose to NTFS format the partition and then install the OS. How do I go back and format the other 28GB partition without having to use third-party software? I don't recall the option to format the other partition at the time I formatted the primary.

control panel > admin tools > computer management > storage > disk management.
You probably can't resize your current partition without 3rd party tools but you will be able to use the other 28GB as another drive (which you can mount as a 'directory' in windows too.

Kewl. I'm not worried about resizing, I just want to use it. Thanks, Richard.
