hi

whats ur favourite ut game?

mine is still the original unreal tournament

i have ut2003 and ut2004

never liked 2003 alot, got a bit boring, now i bought ut2004 and its ALOT of fun, love the new maps/vehicles and its good that assault is back, onslought is great too

but ut1 is still the best, it was my first FPS i ever played....hm i was like 12 years old when my borther bought it for his pc and i played so much, luckely my parents never checked what i was playing there :p

of cours ut2 has much better graphics and stuff but its just not as good, i kinda like the graphics in the old one more i dont know why :) and the weopons in the old one, hm just loved them, the good old rocket launcher with 5 shots i think that was

u know what? im going to reinstall it now and play :D

I like UT for it's sniper riffle no delay like the lighting gun in UT2k3/2k4.

But 2k4 a blast with Bombing run, Capture the flag, slaughter

But 2k4 need to work on the inside the vechile, It looks gay.

Hmmm

Well I have UT99 and UT2004.

The weapons IMO were much better in the UT99. The pistols and dual pistols was a serious intro weapons capable of wiping guys out fast with good accuracy. The intro machine gun in UT2k4 is worthless pretty much unless you lob a grenade directly on someone. Also the sniper rifle in UT99 was hands down better. I can't even use the new sniper rifle, its so horrible.

Otherwise I think UT2004 is better in pretty much every other way. It looks better, is still fast, has excellent maps, the new double jump is great and flips off walls, onslaught is a nice addition. It has everything UT99 has and more and it looks better. Also I think the loading times are faster on UT2k4 than on UT99, i used to have to wait a while loading the interface in the old one.

UT2004 is definitley the most boring (not to mention overrated) game i have yet to play in 2004, admittedly it only cost £10, but fo that £10 about £7.50's worth was spent on content i'd already bought the year before in UT2003

UT '99 was good, but over-shadowed by the magnus-opus of multiplayer-FPS-gaming that is Q3a, leaving 2003 by default, which i actually agree with, of the three its the one ive played the most and enjoyed, possibly because of its similarities to Q3a

I have UT99, UTK3 and UTK4 on my pc. However, for my taste UT99 rules. Maps and graphics and level design were far superior for it's time. In fact UT 99 is what set the standard for what UTK3 should of been. Yet UTK4 was kinda close in many other ways. EO is the bomb when playing with the dual magnums. Bring it on!!! BTW...excelscior or IRON_MAN is my handle on UT99. I recall having a different name 2 years ago and I always got booted from almost every server out there. Hundreds of servers still out there. UT classic rules!!!!:D

I gotta (respectfully) disagree Jakk, I think Onslaught makes up for some of UT2004's shortcomings. Also, 2004 is pretty much 2003 with some nice updates, so if you like 2003 by default you have to find 2004 at least half way decent.

2003 is ok, but it got boring online really quick. The online aspect of the game just didn't really appeal to me. personally, I've heard that 2004 is the best by far from a few people, but I would find that hard to believe.

To me, onslaught is the only really new element of the game (bar the few new maps that are thrown in) and it did nothing for me, bored me absoloutley witless. Like i say, for a tenner you cant really grumble, but if id have paid the £35 shop asking price i would be absoloutley furious becuase, in essence, this offers little more than the community bonus packs do.

As a logical extension of 2003, 2004 is entertainign, however, ive already played all of the modes i like before in UT2003 and of the mpas included ive played 75% (if not more of them) to death already in UT2003, leaving nothing to hold my interest for more than a week

The oddball is me, and although I never actually purchased the full game, I played the demo for over a year while waiting for ut2k4. It seems more fast paced than ut2k4, and although it doesn't have vehicles, I had the most fun playing it. UT2K4 is overall better, but also includes worse lag. Minus the lag, 2k4 would have my vote, but I almost never got lag on the 2k3 demo.

it just occured to me that what UT needs are more maps in the regular game..so it dosn't get boring..that is th main reason I didn't care for it too much ,but not he only reason....
It is a nice game for those who like this style..as it just isn't what I like to play...

that was me on 2003...I haven't played the original too much and might get into it ..just out of curiousity..

The maps come with time. I think on UT99 by the time i deleted it I had a couple hundred maps at least and i was picky with what I got by only getting 4star+ maps.

I haven't got too many with 2k4 yet because I'm still trying to master the ones that come with it.

UT 2004 imo, it added just the spice the other ones needs with vehicles and such. All the different match types are fun, looks good, runs good, no bugs/glitches from what ive seen. Good game.
