Hi all

I'm using the S-video out to S-video on my tv (ATI 9600). The TV displays the pc screen fine, but when I run a video (in media player or jet audio) it just plays black on the TV (the monitor plays it fine).

Any idea how to resolve this? I want to be able to play vids on the tv (normally avi's)

Thanks in advance

Had the same problem with my 9800 pro. Control panel>display>settings>advanced>displays. Check the settings on your tv. With the cat drivers, they default to displaying video on the monitor, not the tv, even though you can see everything else on the tv. Change to tv, should be ok.

If you're cloning displays, you'll find that the video overlay can't be cloned. You can either put the overlay onto the TV screen by making it primary, or, set up the TV screen as a 2nd monitor not a clone display, and simply move the video window over.

Thanks Peter, yes in effect that's what I ended up doing. But fiddly, but watched a film successfully without having to burn to a disc, so result!

Latest ATi drivers (from rev. 4.3 if I remember correctly) automatically switch a video window to seamless overscanned TV fullscreen size. Move it over to the TV screen, hit the "maximize window" button, and it'll fill your TV screen the way it should be.
