I have purchased a new BH6 MB and am having some problems with it. I have it mounted on the case and it is receiving power, the HD and the CD-Rom will both spin but it will not post. I have checked the seating of the 300A processor and it is fine (known working processor) and moved the 64Meg Ram stick to the other memory slots. I've disconnected the CD-Rom and the harddrive but it still will not post. My suspision is that the MD is either shorted to the case or it is not grounded. I have setup other systems without this problem but am starting to wonder if I've missed something. I have the MB screwed down on the four outer corners. Do I need to use the small red washers? Do I need to use one to screw to ground to the case? Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, find the CMOS jumper on the board. Yo first should reset the CMOS and then set it to normal mode operation. i think it ships in reset mode where the system will not post. Give it a try.

Like TonyM says,
clear the CMOS with the jumper then try again. It sounds like your board is grounded if it's screwed in like you said.
Good luck...

I have checked the jumper for the CMOS and it was in its proper position. I cleared the CMOS anyway but no luck. I pull the MB out and reattached it. Once again no luck. Anyone have other thoughts.
Thanks in advance.

Definitely use the little red washers. Double check the power switch connecter.
Be absolutely sure your processor is properly seated.
I had a simelar problem with my bh6 board and celeron processor when i first got it.I even call the vendors tech support but since they were three hours behind i didn't get through.
Out of frustration, i yanked out the processor and slammed it back in and, what do you know, it's been working ever since.
good luck.

Does your CPU fan spin? If it does then the board is getting power. If not then probably a bios problem. Try completely removing all cards, resetting the CPU just to make sure and try a different RAM DIMM. If the RAM is bad or is not set well, the system wont post but you should still get power to the CPU fan.

Hi Verbalabuse,
The washers should make no difference to the BH6.
I have seen a number of posts like this in which it it fairly apparent that the Mother-Board just don't work. Do like everyone else says, check all connections, and the CPU.
There is often a screw hole that is grounded on a motherboard - this was once the hole in the middle of the board at the back by the card holes, but it is not essential to ground the board. Nor is it essential to fit the washers. The washers are only there to prevent damage from the screw and to stop the screw head hitting nearbly tracks and or components.

I have replace all components with other known working products, reset the mother board, checked the power connectors, reset the CMOS, changed both hard and floppy drives, replaced cables, moved RAM (known good) and screamed and yelled in frustration. My next step is to replace the power supply, or move the mother board to another case. All the fans spin, both CPU and case. I am about at wits end.

I hesitate to say this.
Don't you think it's time to replace the motherboard.
With a different model.
A different make.
just a quickie
do you get any post bios beeps
it could be memory i had one that done the same as yours and in the end it turned out to be a small peice of paper on the stick blocking one of the pins take a look and see if thats the case

What video card are you using? My bh6 wouldn't post with my old viper 330 pci board. It works fine with ATI Xpert98 AGP and MAtrox G200 AGP.
