Purchased SB Live and installed on my ASUS P2B-LS board. Worked fine with Windows 98. But after I installed the drivers for Windows NT 4.0 W/S w. SP4 and rebooted, I have not made contact with the system ever since. When booting, I get past the blue screen and sees the desktop, but no icons or login window appears. The system just freezes!! Tried the VGA boot, Last known config., repair disk etc. Even removed the card and booted - no result. My system is USELESS unless I remove the entire NT installation and starts all over - which would REALLY ruin my day! It still works great when I boot the system with Windows 98 (dual boot).
I have a Asus RivaTNT 3400 card which works great, and all the latest drivers/BIOS revisions installed.
Any clues will be greatly and sincerely appreciated,

Regards,

yeah, it seems the sb live messes up all windows installations. i bet even if you tried to install win98 from scratch it would do the same thing. the only solution seems to be installing from scratch without the card in, and only install the card after you've done the complete install. pain in the ****, i know, but i still think the card is worth it.

Hi there,

for Service Pack 4 you NEED the new Driver Release from www.soundblaster.com.
Install the Original Drivers, dont(!!!) reboot, and install the Driverupdate from Creative, then it will works really great, I love this card http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
You only need this for SP4, the Drivers on the CD will only work with SP3.

Bye
