dvd help please!

I have been to dvdrhelp.com and the whole thing is very confusing. I would like to know how to Put an mpg movie onto a DVD+R so it comes out as a playable vcd on my dvd player? I bought my dvd burner so I would not have to use 2 cd's all the time for vcd's. Is this possible and can somebody tell me how or point me to the exact link I could read up on this. I am using Nero 6.0 to try and accomplish this if that helps

You won't be able to use a DVD+R to make a VCD. You'll need to transcode the mpeg into mpeg-2 and turn it into a DVD. Otherwise you could just stick with mpeg-1 and make a VCD, totally defeating the purpose of having a DVD burner. If you're already using Nero you could try Nero Vision Express with the appropriate plugins. I've used it with moderate success. I don't have a link handy, but thats what Google is for!
