Has anyone tried out the new Hitman yet? If so, post your opinions about it here.
:)

I never knew the game was out yet? Next week, or the week after was my guess?

Oh, it's already released in yank-land, ok.

CBH, yes, the game is related to the other hitman games, but this game takes place in his mind, he's had an overdose of drugs or somewhat and is now dreaming of missions, whether these are missions he has done in the past, or missions he would like to do, we don't know.

Wow, I didn't know that. :D

I might look into renting the XBOX version (or buying it). :t

Played the demo of the game. It's not even playable on GeForceFX 5200. FramRate is so low, that i couldn't even enjoy the game, and i had most of the settings on low, and some on medium. This game is such a let down. Hitman 2 played fine and i was really hopping to play this one. :(

Just made few adjuments in videosettings got it running at 800X600 with a nice FPS settings at medium and high. There was some kind of filter enabled that was dramaticly lowering frame rate, boy and i was getting frustrated. The game is the same as Hitman 2 only it needs a better video card to get all the pretty graphics it suppost to show. :t

Ani..... Filerting is a FR killer

AF isn't the killer, it's FSAA that kills frames. I'm guessing that was what was enabled - and on a bottom tiered D9 (if you want to call any FX card that) card with a new game, it will kill it so to speak as Vit found out.

I was not talking about FS and AA filtering. There is an ingame filter "PostFilter" i dissabled it inside the game options. Demo is buggy, i have problem with sound and the game quits by it self and the game is just not that fun. Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 were the best i guess.

the game has many previous missions that hitman 1 had...the game got a 7.6 on gamespot, and you can generally trust their ratings...i liked the first 2 games, but this is just a rehashed hitman 2, same graphics basically...i might get it anyway since i liked the other 2 but im having too much fun beating farcry again

well rehashed in the form of graphics and gameplay (not too many advancements in controls or gameplay, but i dont know if it was much of an issue in H2...in hitman 1 it was a major problem)

as for the rehashed missions...i think they said something like half of the missions were from hitman 1, whether you will remember them or not, i do not know ;)

here why dont i just copy a few paragraphs for ya so i dont screw any of it up since i havent played it yet...

"The original Hitman: Codename 47 was released on the PC back in 2000, and it suffered from serious issues with the controls and overall design. So in a way, it's nice to get to play some of these old missions as they probably should have been played the first time around. On the other hand, those who've stuck with the Hitman series from the get-go might not entirely appreciate the déjà vu. Anyway, close to half of the missions in Contracts are completely original, whereas many of the later missions are "remixes" of levels from the 2000 game, including that game's early missions, which took place in Hong Kong."

"The new missions are certainly diverse and are quite interesting, offering ample opportunity"

"But the action just isn't particularly good by today's standards, because the enemy artificial intelligence is, frankly, terrible."

"The third game in the Hitman series can be thought of as an expansion pack--or a supplement--to the previous game. There isn't much resolution at the end of Hitman: Contracts, so it seems safe to assume that the series is going to continue. Hopefully, then, for his next assignment, 47 will pack a few more tricks up his sleeve. For the time being, though, Hitman: Contracts delivers some time-tested and sometimes highly entertaining stealth action, which any fan of the genre might as well check out. "

not trying to say its a bad game by this description...just trying to help out others as to why it is not as great a game as it could have been, hopefully the 4th one will improve

I gave a reason, and i said that i would re-open it if i felt you could prove it wasnt a request for bootlegged games, somethign you have yet to prove to me. You will also find (at least i have) that the UT GOTY was a commercial release and not freely downloadable (as most GOTY releases are - unlike the community bonus packs, which you may confusing it with), as such, my justification in closing the thread was sound as far as im concerned

Thanks for all of the info. Why i did notice the lack of improvement graphics wise, I was still excited to play the game again but with new missions. It sucks that most of them are knockoffs from the original game

Guess I'll have to give the demo a shot before I even think about this one.

I had a LOT of issues with random crashing and control with the second hitman so I'm a bit wary of this one.

Hitman 2 was rock stable, did have any problems with that.

Yeah. I have no idea wha this is too, but wen youstart the game and then you go video settings there is this "Post Filter" and it's enabled by default. If you disabled it then fram rate sky rockets up high(which is very good). :D :t

Probably a feature similar to bloom since it is a port and bloom helps greatly on consoles in regards to color, though that is only a guess. Though the bloom effect isn't intensive at all, so it isn't that, but probably something similar. I'd have to see comparison images to even make a real guess.
