Sad...
This construction accident happened three days ago and the rescuers have found three bodies. They are still finding one more trapped personnel. But I doubt that guy could survive down there. As the accident site is filled with debris, cranes and water, that guy might be drowned or crushed.
Now the Circle Line (Mass-Rapid Transit) will be delayed in completion.

The Civil Defense people carried the third body out of the debris.

Something similar happened years ago in California during the construction of a freeway bridge next to Devils Gate Dam and adjacent to JPL. I was going to school less then 2 blocks away. A later investigation revealed that the contractor was pouring too fast and the extra water weight in the uncured concrete was more then the engineered support forms could bare.
Did that incident has casualties?

Yes, several dozen construction workers died and dozens more injured. The massive pour of wet cement entombed many for monthes. It was a sad day indeed.
Nowadays, the construction process is not safe anymore.
:(
My mum thought that the road is hit by a earthquake.

No, if it was it would not have been that sad of a day.

Sad, but more of these kind of accidents are the result of managment pennypinching; be that rushing to finish it faster, using unsuitable equipment/materials, or just cutting back of safety gear.
These days people's lives don't mean as much as they did 20 years ago, all that matters is money!
20 years ago, all the HDB flats in Singapore were built brick by brick and properly constructed from the foundation and upwards. Now? Most of the buildings were 'set up' with completed blocks like putting LEGO bricks together. Easy! And the construction process is super fast! Within a few short years, a few flats or condominiums could be completed around the island.
Sad...
Recently, there are a lot of HDB flats facing a lot of cracks on their walls. The authority is still investigating and trying to mend the cracks.
Very sad...
:(
The quality of work has gone down the drain!

All hail the almighty dollar.
People don't count, all it takes are a few years and some single teenagers and you can shore up the population again, but bricks cost money.
