nt 4.0 server printer setup

I have an old server at work and need to use one of it apps to print contact details to update our new database on Act!. It can find the network printers but won't let me install them as the only company login anyone can remember doesn't have administrator privileges (error message is along the lines of 'no privilege, driver needs to be installed locally'), this is also why I can't install a local printer as the only option in 'printers' is to search for a network ones. Can anyone suggest a way of connecting to either a network or local printer preferably without using HKLM coz if I mess the registry up it could be a major problem. Apologies in advance if this is a simple solution and I'm just being thick : )
Oh, OS is NT 4.0 btw.

There are Linux "tools and utilities" out there to allow you to edit the passwords on WinNT systems but we are not allowed to discuss them on here.

Do a google search for NT passwords.
