Has anyone had problems getting the game to run using this card?
I bought the card because I used to have a MX440 which isn't supported.
The game configurator shows a tick next to everything except the graphics card driver, where it shows a blue question mark.
I then get a message saying I may experience problems because my drivers aren't compatible. (or something similar). I've downloaded the latest driver but no difference.
The game just about runs but very slowly, even on minimum resolution and quality settings.
I know my card isn't great, but I expected it to run the game to a reasonable standard.
Any ideas would really be appreciated.

I'm not sure about that game, but i had a 9200SE before i got my 9800Pro and i couldnt play half the games i had. My geforce2 mx400 was better.

A 5200 XT would have been a better purchase, or even a G4 for that amount of money as ATi is excellent on the high end, just that the 9200 is actually an 8500, a weaker 8500. I'd check FAQ and the official boards. It SHOULD work, not the prettiest (in any of the cards), but it should work. Something doesn't seem right.

That's what I think. I don't expect brilliant performance but I expected it to be playable at reasonable resolutions.
I'll try reinstalling the game /card.
Thanks for replying.
Anyone else had a similar problem?

My brother runs the game on Radeon 9200 SE. Works fine and the game is fun. :D :t

Not sure what specs are relevant but it's an Athlon 1.2, 256 SDRAM.
It meets all the minimum requirements but not many of the recommended ones. The original Splinter Cell ran fine with a poorer card.
Do you think it's worth reinstalling the game and/ or card?
I've heard the SE version is pretty bad but still think it should run the game ok.
Thanks for the help, it's driving me mad.

I know you may have already heard it a million times, but if it's an AGP card, do you have the latest AGP drivers for your motherboard?

I too have the same graphics card and it runs Halo and other games at pretty high resolutions seemlessly.

I have a 2.0Ghz with 512 DDR Ram.

Also, do you have anthing else running when you play. My friend used to have alot of problems w/ his 1.2Ghz/ 256 SDRAM machine when playing games. Turned out he was killing off his Memory.

Worth a shot:
Go to the Run Command, Type in "msconfig" and hit RUN.
Go to the furthest right tab, (startup), and write down all the entries that start up at boot time. Then, hit DeSelect ALL and reboot the PC.
Try running the game after the following boot which should hopefully load only necessities. At least this way you can determine if it's the memory or something with the card.

Good luck.

Novel over.
Joey
