Well I'm not sure if you'll be able to answer this if you don't know anything about Counter-Strike but here I go. When I go to "New Game" and select the map I wan't and create it (this isn't a dedicated server btw, just a temporary server so my cousin and I can play by ourselves), well it creates the server. The problem is that he can't join it and I can't join his if he makes one. It jus says "Server timed out". Were both using Linksys routers. I remember in 1.5 I used to make temporary servers like that all the time for us. Is it maybe a router setting I need to change to host something like this or you can't in Cs 1.6? I wasn't sure where to post this, gaming section or networking and internet so I posted it here. Sorry if it's in the wrong section. :t

Well I'd first go to the site for cs 1.6 see if there is anything about starting servers.. But I may be wrong but since you have to use steam... are you guys using the same cd key? If you are thats a prob.. another thing is are you on the internet cause you have to get the won id accepted.
hmmmmm
1.6 might be using a diffent ip number or sumthign as well. Your best bet is go to a server where someone has the server running and ask them. :t
