Please, no thread-crappers or other neg comments, i dont do it to you so......................
Please, no comments. Other than bumps, please pm or email me at kingbee@cogeco.ca
I have a US and a Canadian shipping addy and 125 good heatware refs under nork.

Here's the deal. As some know, i do charity work. I get a lot of bare boards that i have to get up and running. What i need is a socket 478 P4 cpu with or without hs/fan to use as a tester, so as long as its P4, socket 478, and works properly, that should take care of most situations, i forget offhand what mhz socket 478 started at but that is around what i am looking for. I think its around the 1.5 mark. Now before anyone posts I am not asking for charity here, some boards allow it, some dont, and this thread is going in a few places, so i repeat I am not asking for charity. I have heard of some pretty nasty stuff being traded around here so i want to point out i dont want someone's junk, it must be guaranteed no-doa.

I also have some items that i could trade for the cpu. Best thing is to pm or email me with what you would be looking for in the way of cash or trades or both.

thank you very much in advance

Nork, I might have a cpu for you. It worked when I ran it last. (last year sometime)

If you interested, I will check if I still have it, and let you know.

Nork..
I'll look too...I live in MI.

I had a P4 1.6GHz chip I salvaged out of a year old Gateway...478.

I think it still works...I'll see what I can do for ya.

This isn't some kind of personal...beer type charity, is it? in that case...I'm not only a member...but possibly the president...
:p

lol

dajogejr , thats funny!
No, i build units that go to schoolkids who dont have one at home. We get a lot of refugees here and there are plenty of kids with only one parent who would never get one at home. The school principals know about our charity and so we get the names from them.
These days a kid needs a puter at home otherwise they will fall back. Our charity is registered, the whole nine yards. One way or another we get lots of parts and i build a fair amount of puters but the demand is there as well, so here i am. Great experience for me in more ways than one!
