I just bought a new game from Best Buy called Armed and Dangerous, when I install the game it only installs about %60 and then a gray box will pop up with the error message reading Catastrophic Failure, I have also tried to install this game on my wife’s and sons machine with the same outcome, So I thought maybe it was the disk, I turned it back into bestbuy for a new one, I got home installed it and I still get the same error, I’m running windows XP on all computers at home and all computers are double the specs for the game, have any of you guys came across any error like that when installing a game?’;

thanks alot.

well I fixed the problem, I went out to the store and bought a new cd-rw/dvd combo drive, because my wifes CD-RW is the same as my old one, when I replaced my old CD-RW the game installed frist time with know problems at all, I did the same on my wifes system and it worked fine, never would have figured that it was my drive not installing the game right. thanks for all the replys;) j/k

Crazycrusher...how do you like the game???

I played the demo and thought it was above average....nice game generally...

Your thought on it so far....

Congrats on the new drive and getting it to run...

I am having a problem right now with Best Buy and their shipping....still waiting on a parcel that is now two weeks gone by..and it will be here tomorrow or the next day...
No more ground shipping for me...thats it!

Its not a bad game at all, basically "Giants" MkII, which is no bad thing when one considers how good Giants was

Thegame is "Giants: Citizen Kabuto" Armed and Dangerous is from the smae people and is about as close as a follow up game as you can get.

As for avatars, just what i find on my travels

Ones travels......OH YES!......many roads and interesting possibilities.....

I have so many games now and a short list of things to come.....it would probably be way down the road to get this anyway....
Myself like so many others out there, I find good first person War games to my liking as well as good strategy based shooters..with some story or plot maybe..

Maybe I will get Pandora Tomorrow next month..or and a good strategy game....
Can't wait for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. to come out later this year.....it will be a good one.....maybe one of the best of 2004...

Yep sorry took a while to post back, I got a reply from Lucas Arts regarding my past problem with the game, I will post what it was they told me to do, and yes Rabbit the game is pretty cool, a diffrent one for me but I like it, its fun, plenty to do in the game lots of blowing things up if your into that, but all n all a good game, exp the problem I was having on installation, but other than that a good game all round.

I might have to check back into this game and see about it some more......as it got alot of press at the time.....hard to compete with EA Games and all their war stuff out....
As I read alot of posts from people..I notice you are like me alot in that you have to be selective and honestly critical about what we like....thanks for the update....happy gaming!

Update: now I remember this game....I was thinking about another game ( H & D 2 ) .
This is a fast RPG type game with alot of humorous stuff ...run and shootem up . I only played the demo and did enjoy it for what it was.....a bit haloish to me ,but quite fun.....I can probably get this pretty cheap now..new or used.....

ye I thought it might have been that, but it was the fact I was trying to install it on a CD-RW drive, strange but it wouldnt install on any of the Drives on 4 of my system, they all have CD-Rw drives only, not now :)

Why is there not a standard for all CD-R 's or CD-RW's ???? its like everything else made in this world..someone has to be different and mess things up....Like Chevy and Ford having differing ideas......
In mechanics ther are set standards for sockets and holes using metric or our system ,which is not the world standard..
In electronics..I suppose that differnet makers have their own way of doing and technically creating things.....but they should all conform to the norms.....I would think...I am sure they are aware of such things and are hard working at it..or again messing up a good thing.

ummmmm, cd-r and cd-rw are the 2 standards?

No! i mean that they do not always load every game or have the same properties..as is noted by some users......

That's a good question. There are 650mb and 700mb CD's out there with all sorts of different file types and uses on them. There really is no standard.
