Hey! I know this game is already an old and outdated software but I hope you all can bear with me.
Well! I have started playing this game again after two years of 'cold' storage. Amazingly, the CDs are still clean and operational. But the manuals are stained with dust.
Which character do you think is the best one in single-player mode and multiplayer mode?
In BattleNet, I'm currently using a Druid and a Paladin. My Druid (level 79) is now an 'animal farm' and I kinda like it. My Paladin is still weak after gaining to level 55. I just don't understand the reason. Both characters are now in nightmare mode.
I know what to do with a Druid's skills and talents but I don't know how to strengthen my Paladin.
In single-player mode, I'm now using a Barbarian and I don't know what to use for his skills or talents.
Druid:
Elemental:-
Firestorm - 2 points
Arctic Blast - 2 points
Cyclone Armor - 12 points
Twister - 8 points
Tornado - 8 points
Hurricane - 10 points
Summoning:-
Raven - 8 points
Poison Creeper - 2 points
Oak Sage - 6 points
Spirit Wolf - 8 points
Carrion Vine - 4 points
Dire Wolf - 8 points
Grizzly - 11 points
Paladin:
Combat Skills:-
Smite - 2 points
Holy Bolt - 4 points
Zeal - 8 points
Blessed Hammer - 6 points
Fist of Heavens - 7 points
Offensive Auras:-
Might - 2 points
Thorns - 8 points
Blessed Aim - 2 points
Concentration - 2 points
Sanctuary - 2 points
Defensive Auras:-
Prayer - 2 points
Defiance - 2 points
Cleansing - 2 points
Salvation - 8 points
Barbarian:
Combat Skills:-
Bash - 2 points
Stun - 4 points
Combat Masteries:-
Sword Mastery - 2 points
Axe Mastery - 2 points
War Cries:-
Howl - 2 points
Find Potion - 2 points
Shout - 2 points
Currently, my Barbarian is just level 15.
:t
Hope you all can help me in 'distributing' all the experience points! I have lost touch in the game so I need help here.
Thanks!

if you are using the new 1.10 patch then there are some cool synergies for each skill, the "windy druid" approach will be the best, dont waste any points in fire skills only do all the wind skills on the tree, put a single point into each wind skill till you get tornado then max tornado and hurricane, once you've maxed those then you can start back on cyclone armor, twister, and that other one... ice breath or whatever it is.

My understanding of a Paladin is that they work best when in a Party. When you create a Paladin it tells you they are natural Party Leaders. Your Paladin will most likely be weak unless you are in a group and using his skills to benefit the group. I may be wrong but I have not played a paladin in a long time.
I like Barbarians until Hell level when many creatures are immune to Phyisical Damage.

With all chacters you really need kickA$$ weapons armor etc. I've got a paladin up into the 70's and almost have to work to get him killed in the first half of Hell (stopped playing him as it was getting boring). I've played every character except the necromancer, and asasin up into the 30's and like the barbarian the best. although the palidin is probably the most well rounded in his potiential abilities.
If I remember correctly proper use of jewels in weapons etc was a big help along with a high level of redemption (for some of the tough critters you may have to wait to turn this on untill after you kill several, and it has a built in delay so don't wait too long) for most you just leave it on and the more you kill the healthier you get. A Combat skill coupled with an offensive aura can multiply damage. Tactics like getting the baddies strung out chasing you can also help. Of course some very fast run boots help a lot too. It helps to specialize in a few abilities and only put one point in some of the lower abilites to help get to a high damage/defense level more quickly. Watch the multipliers and go for the abilities with the biggest bang for the buck. You can use a ranged weapon to advantage in some levels.
Enjoy!

I could go in depth with it but i suggest you go to diabloii.net forums, that site (and its forums) are probly the best resource for d2 anyone can find. Hammer paladins own 1.10!!! thats all i got to say. Just go to the diabloii.net community forums and post this thread, you will likely get an awesome response.

I've found when you play a pally solo you need to put a LOT of points into any one skill in order to make it effective. Focus on what you need, like accuracy or damage auras...or lose auras alltogether and focus on some more damaging skill.

arreat summit has facts, but diabloii.net has that plus a whole lot more. Im affraid diabloii.net wins.
Two years ago, you must access the cow level to gain experience for your character.
Now you can fight Baal's minions in five or four waves to gain experience.
Basically, I'm good at using a Druid because that guy is quite volatile and easy to train.
Just let your animals and elementals to do your work! Hehehehehe...
The Paladin is quite difficult to train. The Barbarian is good with two long swords. If you put some points in Double Swing, you can see the character swing his weapons at the enemy. Awesome! You can even hear the swinging sound!

CBH - the 1.10 patch has, as usual, completely turned gamepaly around yet again. I read previously that :rDiabloII.net (http://www.diabloii.net) was suggested as a resource and I would suggest the same. The basic rundown , depending on PvP or PvM is as follows (no particular order):
Bone Necros
Fire Sorcs
Wind Druids - as always
Fury barbs ( many different combos for Barbs as always)
Shadowsins
Zons got raped in this build - some are still viable
Hammerdins, FOHers, and Smiters all still rock (depending on lvl) - chargers own at most 29 and below PK games.
and Oh so much more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope that helps a bit - there are tons of strategy guides available but creating your own is always the most fun.....
PM me if you want to play or PK. :r :r
