Help with Game Connection

I’m trying to play ‘Age Of Empires’ online with a friend of mine but we can’t seem to get it to work. We both have copies and the expansion and it use to work all the time but we can’t figure out why it’s not working now. One of us creates a game in ‘TCP/IP Direct play’ the other types in the others IP and does a search for the game. Usually the game should come up but for weeks now nothing has been coming up.

What I think the problem may be is I installed a Linksys Wireless G router and created a network with 2 PC’s. I tired disabling all the firewalls and stuff but it still doesn’t work. Anyone know how to fix this?

My guess is the router is keeping it from working. You will have to configure the router so the ports it needs are open and forwarded to your computer I think. I had to do something simular to get VNC to work with routers on both ends of the connection.

This is not a LAN connection its over the internet.
