PC1 and PC2 are networked via NetBEUI. I created a Briefcase in PC2 to store approximately 500-1000 files in a folder from PC1. The idea is to use this utility as a cheap way of backing up my files (I know Win95 comes with a backup utility; I'm merely trying out an alternative method). [I can also imagine using Briefcase to compare the dll files in windows/system directory before and after installing new software when I don't have a third-party utility to do so. What do you think?]
When the number of files is small, the idea seems to work well: Any addition/deletion of files or modification to the existing files is reflected in the Briefcase over the network.
As the number of files grows to several hundred, however, the update begins to fail. Even if I add or delete a file in PC1's folder, the result of synchronizing the Briefcase in PC2 is always "No file needed updating".
Is there a limit to the number of files Briefcase can handle?
Thanks
