Hi All,

Perhaps someone out there has a logical explanation for this.

I have just purchased the MSI 5900 card and whenever I use it for capturing movies MOSTLY WITH ULEAD CAPTURE SOFTWARE the computer will freeze with this message:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Tehnical Information:
Stop: 0X000000D1 (0XF194E800,0X00000002,0X00000001,0XF81B1E57)
nv4_mini.sys - adress F81B1E57 base at F819F00,DateStamp 4061d74b

If I use display driver 4.403 then everything will be fine. So it appears that I'm stuck with no driver updates.

This happens with all Nvidia cipset based boards.

Is there a solution to this ?

Welcome to SysOpt! :t
Stop 0xD1 messages can occur after installing faulty drivers or system services. If a driver is listed by name, disable, remove, or roll back that driver to confirm that this resolves the error. If so, contact the manufacturer about a possible update. Using updated software is especially important for backup programs, multimedia applications, antivirus scanners, DVD playback, and CD mastering tools.

Good luck! :D

So what is at fault. Is it the Nvidia drivers (all exept v.4.403) or Micro$oft WindowsXP and 2k. ?

Nvidia are unreacable !!

Have you tried the very latest drivers -- v56.72? If so, just use v44.03. They work, why not? As new drivers come out, try them.

Good luck! :D

Yes, have tried ALL drivers the only one that work is version 4.403. This is the one that came with the card. All other drivers work fine also IF Ulead movie capturing applications are avoided.

The only reason I use Ulead is because their MPEG-2 codec is resident in their software and to use the smart render feature in their video editing software you must use that codec, otherwise you will have to spend a long time to render the first edit of the movie. After the first edit smart render will work since the clip will now be using the Ulead codec.
