I have a Redfox 430TX board with an AMD K-6 200, 64MB sdram(32x2), a Seagate ST32122A on primary and master, old Conner 270MB, Teac CD 56E on secondary with teac as master, and Win 95 OSR 2.0. All my bios settings for peripherals are on auto and enabled (incl UDMA on primary and secondary IDE).
I've likewise installed the Intel Win 95 INF utility so win 95 can recognize my chipset. When I enabled bus mastering using the native driver I got an exclamation on my primary ide but my secondary's okay. My drive is also not found in device manager. I wanted to reverse the procedure but can't find a way. What gives? Is it my HD but my drive is not listed in the incompatible drives at Seagate website. Tried removing drivers in device mgr but as soon as it reloads the exclamation's still there. Even if I change the HD driver to Standard MS - it still loads the real mode drivers. I don't really want to reinstall win 95. need help. thanks.

Most likely you need an updated Busmaster IDE driver. On some 430 (437)TX systems this will happen with the native Win95 busmaster driver (you must be using Win95C), and even with the correct driver some older CDROM drives may not want to play AUDIO (Sanyo 4x for example). I will attempt to send you the driver which has worked well on several 430 TX systems.

OOPS! I SEE YOU HAVE NOT LISTED AN EMAIL ADDRESS

thanks to u guys. thanks for the drivers too, cmonster. so far what i've done was visit the mskb site. i downloaded the ???506?pdr file and ran it. this restored my primary drive in device mgr. i tried checking the DMA box again but it does't remain checked. that's ok, though. i'll try running the drivers cmonster sent me in a couple of days. thanks.

One of the nice things about those drivers I sent is that they came with an install/uninstall program so that if you are unhappy with them you can uninstall them and it will leave your system as it was.

*They are for a TX chipset, and decidedly do not work on a VX chipset - I accidentally installed then on a VX board once and had to boot in safe mode to uninstall them.

Originally these drivers came with an Iwill P55XB2 motherboard I purchased, but they have worked perfectly on 3 different brand boards with TX chipsets.

Good luck
