I was looking at a site ( think it was gamespy ) and noticed a couple of games that might be on ones most wanted list..coming out in a month or two....
The first is "Ground Control"...which by all accounts should be quite a nice game....with some real good 3D graphics and landscapes to play on..and am unsure about it being a first person..but I think it is....but may be more of a C & C generals type game.....Looks really hot..
The other game I noticed is one that is already out for X Box I believe and that is True Crime: Streets of L. A.
I think most people have seen the trailers or ads for this game and it already has won some honors for possible game of the year...although that is a big statement...considering HL 2 and Doom 3 are coming out this year...
Thoughts?

The original Ground COntrol was supposed to be a very good RTS (though im not much into strategy).
As for 'True Crime' it was a big hit on the consoles but that dont mean much a lot given the sort of games released on consoles, of the reviews i read noen were too kind, and of what ive seen myself, it loosk like a cheap and nasty ripoff of GTA and Max Payne

True Crime does look a little cartoonish to me..and I already got pretty tired of Vice City which is probably what this is more like than not.....
I was just playing it again tonight for awhile and one thing I noticed was the graphics were a little cheesy ..but ti makes me laugh alot....esp. if you freelanch and try to get the cops mad and the chase is on......I just run everything over and shoot thenm all ....haven't gotten totally away yet with four stars and the helio and swat team.....GTA 3 was better I think overall...and more interesting...
I think I played a demo that was out for Ground Conrol a while back and I did like it alot...I do like the straegy games though ..esp. the ones with great 3D graphics ....such as Generals and how about Warcraft....? that game is so beautiful it is amaziing as I think it seet the tone for all games to come up with more color and dazzle.....just beauitfully done.....a true work of art.
Jak....did you get your Unreal 2004 game yet and play it? The reviews are real good I goes even though this kind of game is not my favorite genre to play.

War Craft 3 s sup[posed to be excellent if your into that sort of thing, as for UT2004, well, it's not as good as everyones hyping it up to be, but its not bad. Think of it more as UT2003 v1.25 rather than a new game, indeed most of the content is from its older brother, however it's god at waht it does. As such if you can find it at a cheap price (as i did - £10) then its well worth buying, but if its being pushed as a full price release (£35-£40) then its not worth it, just isnt interesting enough

I totally agree.... I am a little disappointed in all the hype about UT 2004 ..as I played the demo and it got real boring real fast to me....like I said...not my kind of game...just too much frenziness about it and a little quirky ...the fact that card makeers are hyping this game up for their cards is a little strange also..
Far Cry is a much better game for my tastes....and the graphics and scenry are better too ..
This game ( UT 2004 )would appeal to the younger set..who like that kind of gameplay and hurriednesss...and yes I agree that UT 2003 or even the second one were better to me......
Jak..just what kind of games are your favorites??

UT2004 is a really cheap game around 40$ CDN at wal-mart. Not bad for 40$ athough the game does get repetitive and boring fast but for that price I would get it. But im not a big fan of the game since it moves too fast for me. Ill stick with CS 1.6 :p

Mainly FPS, driving sims, sports games, paint and click adventures and the occasional RPG (none of that bierdy **** though).
I dont mind fast paced FPS', heck i love Quake 3, which is still the fastest, stripped down FPS experience out there five years on, but UT2004 just gets very boring very quickly.

I guess you guys have never played some real 1 v 1 in ut2003 or ut2004, they are extremely fast and very very strategic, there is so much more to the game than quake3, dont get me wrong i love quake3 as well and played it hardcore for a long time, but ut2k3/4 just offer so much more in the dm area and its just so much fun to play because unlike quake3 the person who doesnt have armor or mega health controlled can still frag easily with weapons that have some major power such as the bio rifle or the shock rifle combo. The other thing i like about UT is the no spawn killing, RARELY will you get spawn killed in a 1 v 1 where as in quake3 you can learn the spawns and you'll know exactly where the player spawns next time after you kill them and if you can strafe jump well then you can get to where they spawned almost instantly and kill them. Overall 2k4 is a good game, however it was kind of a waste of 40 dollars because i dont even play the new game modes... still just play the DM, but it did add a new feel and some slight polish to the DM mode, however not a 40 dollar spit polish if you ask me :p

Onslaught didnt really do it for me, torlan, the map included in the demo, was really quite fun, but the rest of them in the full game left me cold and tbh ive not really bothered with it as much as i had planned to, just been sticking to my long-term diet of TDM and CTF
