ok I've been running an
abit nf7-s
amd 2600 stock fan
512 ddr ram
sata raptor drive 36

basic settings to get this up and running.

However, it has hung just before it runs the memory check at post
2 times? Its been running fine for nearly 2 weeks with these 2 hiccups? any ideas why it would stop there.

The first time a reset was all it took to get it running
the second time a week later it took a reset and a shut down.
hmm

Test the RAM.

Good luck! :D

It's hard to check RAM if it won't post. See if this is your problem:

didn't get to it last night. posted fine this morning.

wouldn't the capacitor problem cause total failure?

Eventually it would, but it might give lots of grief before that point.

had a similar problem with this mobo...just would hang at post...ran all tests on memory etc, all ran fine..memtest86, prime 95 etc...finally thought mobo was knackered....Then set ram voltage up to 2.7 from stock 2.6 and havent had a post problem since! Apparently this mobo is very picky on memory and has been known to undervolt slightly....give it a whirl....:t
