OK, I got my Leadtek FX5700 today from Newegg (after RMA'ing it) and I slap it in and install the winfast drivers. After testing a few games, everything is fine and looks great so I decide to test the TV-out. I used the S-Video to RCA connector and the RCA to RCA connector to the TV. After doing all the necessary hookups, I go to the nView settings and switch it from analog to TV. The picture comes out and my brother checks out speedfan to test the temps. After he closes speedfan, the TV whacks out and I lose my picture. Now, I can't get any picture with the 5700, TV or monitor. The fan on the card spins so I know the card isn't dead. I still have my trusty PCI GF2 card and I can get into Windows with it. Could it be that the card is still trying to send the output image through the TV and not the monitor? Help please!

Thanks in advance!

More info, but it doesn't solve my problem... I checked on Leadtek's website and they have a BIOS update that fixes the TV-Out error. My problem is, I can't flash the BIOS to begin with. I've tested the card in another computer and it still does nothing. How am I supposed to flash the card's BIOS when the card won't let me boot into Windows? On the motherboard's LED, I get error "2B." Help!

Try pressing F8 during initial bootup and selecting VGA mode. When in Windows, change your primary display back to monitor and set it as default.

But my video card won't even power on the monitor. I watch the LED and it stops at 2B which is when it attempts to power on the monitor. I tried with my PCI card and when it got to 2B, the monitor powered on. I'm at school right now, so I won't be able to test this for a few hours. Besides your suggestion Bill, the only other thing I can think of is flashing the card's BIOS. I made a bootable floppy with the new driver set from Leadtek's website that supposedly fix the TV-Out issue. Now, I just need a floppy drive :D Is it possible to flash the BIOS with the files located on the computer? I am using the method Bigjakkstaffa posted HERE (http://sysopt.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=160993). But replace A:/ with C:/.

A video card is crucial for starting. How can you flash a card if you cannot start the PC? You could do it if you put the Leadtek and a PCI card in - maybe.

I would return the card for another brand and take the restocking fee hit. This is BS.

The computer will boot with both cards plugged in. I used the PCI for the monitor. Device manager said that it couldn't get info for the 5700 because it couldn't start. Still at school, so I can't do much from here.

Last night, I was talking to my brother about getting a refund. Get the $109 from newegg via refund (with the restocking fee) and get some "donations" towards an eVGA FX5900SE. But I told him that if I could get this card to work, then there would be no need to do that. During the time the card was working, we were able to test Savage and Warcraft 3-TFT, turned up everything to high and in 1024, looked great and ran very smooth. I'll try flashing the BIOS and if that still doesn't work, back to newegg for a refund.
