my pc freezes up tight about five or six times a day. Sometimes for no obvious reason but I can make it happen by trying to fax or print a photo or big file. It happens more often if I use 16 bit colors. Then when I reboot (reset) Windows won't load, it sticks half way thru. I reset again and reboot in safe mode but only in 16 colors. Then I have to reset the monitor and reboot AGAIN! Now it will work for a while until the next hang. I have Norton antifreeze installed an I occasionally get a message 'Drive C may not be configured properly. Integrity scan can not run.'
It is a PII 300 MHz. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

Seems that you have too litle of ram. Do you have many residents programs like Norton system doctor, schedule, office shortcut bar. You can try close all residents programs by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete now shut down all programs excapt Explore, by clicking once in program name and then in end task. Sometime antifreeze makes freezes

We are going to need more info as to what type of system you have, amount of memory, type of motherboard, video card, what utilities you have installed, etc. The more info the better.

Did you check to make sure the CPU and power supply fans are working?

Sounds like overheat to me!
Verify the temperature in the case and cpu, and give us more details about your system.
