I'm using a P6VXA motherboard with Celeron 766 Intel Processor. I had this system to replace the memory and reinstall windows on it. This system seem to run real slow and it appear to have a virus on it. After working on this pc for several weeks the I finally had all the anti-virus software on the system had the pc running like it suppose to and now the only thing left for me to do was to replace the memory. The system was fine until the cpu fan went bad, so I replaced it.

Each time I done anything with this pc, I always reboot the pc to make sure the change hadn't affected anything, but it hadn't until the memory. I even tried to put back the original memory and I can not get this pc to display through the monitor.

After I replaced the memory it won't allow the pc to display anything through the monitor, the pc appears to be running but just not displaying anything throught the monitor. You will actually hear a click like the monitor tries to come on and than it won't.

It will actually turn itself off after it boots which since I had this system it has never did the beeps for during POST.

Any Suggestions?? I have tried things I seen in the old post but nothing has helped me.

How many Beeps do you hear?

Also What kind of new RAM did you buy, vs the old RAM?

and did you try to remove the video card and try another one?

or simply just to reseat it ?

I have never heard beeps with this motherboard. The old ram was pc 100 -32 mb 2 sticks, added to vacant slot new ram is one stick pc 100 - 128 mb.

I will try to reseat the memory and video card. I couldn't understand that even though the video card was in the slot with a screw to hold it in tight. It still was not as tight as it should have been in the slot.

Thanks, so much it is always the simple things isn't it. Thanks again.

Try removing both the Vid Card and all of the RAM, do you get beeps when powering on?

If not try unmouting the motherboard from the case and runnign it on an anti-static mat or similar, if you still get nothing i would be inclined to say the Mobo's dead
