It's time to mention it again because Symantec is offering that $30.00 mail in rebate for "competitive upgrade" once again. How does that make it free?

Staples will match (not beat) on-line prices. I checked with the store manager at a Staples in Columbus to make sure this is still their policy.

If you get spam with the offer for SystemWorks Pro 2004 for about $30.00 including free shipping, print it. Staples will match the price if the company does not offer "next day delivery." If the company offers "next day," Staples will charge you that amount because they always ship next day.

This is important - check the source first to make sure they do not offer this delivery option (some places may charge a huge amount for next day service).

The Staples manager is supposed to jump on-line and check the price, shipping options etc.

The best part is you'll get the boxed version instead of the disk only - full doc's etc. and you know it's from a reputable dealer with Staples.

The second best part is the $30.00 mail-in "competitive rebate" offer. You'll have to send Symantec proof that you own a qualifying product (like an old McAfee or OnTrack disk).

BTW, it's a $30.00 USD or $45.00 CDN rebate. Also, if Staples suddenly changes their policy, all you have lost is a trip to one of their stores. Besides, It was priced $69.00 so, after rebate, $39.00 is still a great price to get NAV, Norton Utilities, Ghost, CleanSweep, GoBack (Roxio) etal.

Viola!
