Hi,

One question: I have recently bought a dvd rom (pioneer 6x) zone free. I have bought some dvd movies during my holidays in the US (zone 1, of course). I am living in the UK (zone 2).
I am a bit confused. Are Soft dvd players (like zoran) zone blocked ? If I buy the soft dvd player in the uk, am I going to be able to play zone 1 movies ?

As far as I know you can't use other's zone DVD's ! I have one Creative 5X and it's blocked to my zone(4, I live in Brasil). I have only 5 times to change the zone using the instalation program, after that my DVD will be blocked in the last zone that I put.

You usually choose the zone when you install the software.

You are right, you do choose the zone when you install the soft. BUT, my dvd drive is ZONE FREE !
I think it is not fair to have the zone blocked by the soft !
If the zone is software blocked, usually (depending on the soft) you can change is back from 3 to 5 times.
Now, thanks to pray59 and the web site, I can play any zones !
