Hey gennamen!! Just a quick question. I wanted to know the best way to set up a CD-RW in my 'puter for best throughput and burning speeds. I was told it didn't really matter, but I figured I would ask anyway. Right now I have the CD-RW set as secondary master and my CDROM as secondary slave. The only thing on my primary line is my HDD. I may add a second drive as a swap file in the future, but only if it doesn't matter the order of my CD drives. TIA!

I asked the same question on another BBS and
was told that the way I had it setup was basicly correct. CDROM (master) CDRW (slave)on IDE2, and HD (master) with Zip (slave) on IDE1. I have had a 100% success
rate with this setup, so I guess that I'll stick with it. Wether it is the optimal setup
(speed) I do not know! Maybe some one here
can correct me.

DH is correct, mine has been running smooth for almost a year with that set up. Be sure to keep the cpu load down when burning on an IDE burner or you will make a few coasters. I
turn off all other applications when burning a CD to improve success.
